While I Was(n't) Sleeping

2016

Photography

Waiting, time, passing, passed, silent, noise, what was that?

Drawn from experiences of paranoia and stress surrounding sleep, While I Was(n’t) Sleeping explores the silent environments that exist in moments of not-sleeping-not-awake. The images are still, quite and vacant, allowing for a moment of peace and observation. The photographs were taken in complete darkness in the late hours of the evening / early hours of the morning - times when there’s not explicit time - using exposures lasting over 10 minutes.
